NVIDIA’s has made the claim of streaming console-like quality games to the NVIDIA SHIELD series. The NVIDIA GRID service had been announced from the start of 2013. Currently it has been in beta and is still only available to those who choose to buy a SHIELD device.

Myself and many others have been use the streaming service for a couple years for free. Even though we have been expecting an update on the service since May, we still have not got any word of the current status. Today, NVIDIA updated its site to let we Shield users know that we can continue to use the GRID streaming service free of charge until September 2015! Hooray!

This happy news can only be due to another delay with the streaming service which can be seen as good or bad news I suppose. If we see a release this year, it will bring about a subscription-based model. It will be much like Netflix etc. but for gaming and the option to completely buy the game as well.

In case you do not know already, the streaming service is excellent at... streaming games, if you have a decent internet connection.

One month to go! I can only hope they don't delay again and wait a little more!
